The Integrative Artistry Project
Dr. Michelle Miller facilitated and embarked upon a deeply creative experiential process with an influential artist who chooses to remain anonymous on this site. The artist’s paintings portray his creative exploratory experience in his process with Dr. Miller. The work of art on the right side of the page labeled as The”Light” Series include paintings that are actual replicated images that the artist visualized, in his imaginative process, during his exploratory immersion into the subtler layers of consciousness. This was done under Dr. Miller’s verbal & professional guidance and in the unfolding of the experiential shared space. The art pieces on the right side of the page labeled as The “Dark” Series depict the artist’s shadowy experiences in his process with Dr. Miller. The butterfly piece, for example, was made with ash, a metaphor for death, which represents the shadow realm.
Dr. Michelle Miller Shares her Experience of this Process Below:
The two exhibits on the right side of the page created by the influential artist, who chooses to remain anonymous on this site, were inspired by a deeply-rooted experiential self-inquiry process that the artist ventured into within the shared space that was cultivated between us. The artist explored his deeper inner journey in our sacred shared space over a 7 month process. Through exploring deeper states of consciousness in the psyche and soma the idea of a creative process was introduced and a cognitive genesis emerged. As we used the artist’s personal stories as gateways towards the deeper unknown recesses of the psyche, liminal states of heightened creativity began to sprout. The work of art on the right side of the page is a manifestation of the inwardly explored dimensions of the artist which allowed an integration that expanded the parameters of what is possible from the unknown. The two exhibits as a whole integrate extreme points of paradoxical truths that scratch at the very edges of the human psyche. The artist’s work is the ultimate depiction of tapping into a realm where the individual & collective states of consciousness are interwoven as a result of delving into an intuitively creative exploratory immersion.
“The artist takes in the world, but instead of being oppressed by it, he reworks it in his own personality and recreates it in the work of art. ~Ernest Becker
